5 on a Friday

1. Rakestraw in Danville hosted Kate Quinn recently and it was incredible! They say to never meet your heroes, but I disagree. I was in the front row and got a signed copy of her new book, The Briar Club, before the Tuesday release date. I can’t wait to dive in! I loved The Diamond Eye and it was so fun to hear Kate talk about the characters and her writing process!

2. You know I love audiobooks, so when I saw this announcement from Julia Whelan, I was thrilled! Julia is advocating for narrators to receive royalties from their work.

3. This week, I finished One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I’m on a TJR kick! The plot had me asking all the “what if?” questions and she captured love, grief, and relationships so well. I loved the character development, too.

4. When my son was born, we turned on subtitles for our TV and never turned them off. We had no clue it would help him learn to read, but six years later, we are wondering where he learned all these words? There is a magic button to improve literacy! Turn On The Subtitles – check out the link to learn more!

5. For the bookish Swifties. You need this mug and Little Golden Book. Great gift ideas!
