Happy first week of Spring! I know so many people are on Spring Break over the next few weeks, so I hope you plan to have some relaxing or adventurous time with friends and family (and can sneak away to dive into a good book)!

New: Tuesday TBR
In case you missed it, earlier this week I launched a new weekly series called “Tuesday TBR” where I feature a single book I’ve recently added to my “to be read” list. I explain where I heard about the book and why I’m excited to read it!
You can read Tuesday’s post here. Check back each week for a new feature!
Last, Now, Next
The last book I read was How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang. It’s an “enemies to lovers” about a novelist who temporarily moves to LA so she can sit in the writer’s room while her book is developed into a TV show. I understood so much of the “behind the scenes” of the writer’s room because I listen to the podcast, Happier in Hollywood!

I’m currently reading Search by Michelle Huneven. It’s about a church committee’s search for a new minister. Includes recipes!

Next: I’m six weeks out on my holds list at the library, so I hope The Art Thief comes in time to read for an April book club discussion!

StoryGraph Stats
A few months ago, my friend told me about StoryGraph and I shared my intentions of tracking my reads! I am loving the stats and visualizations so far in 2025. You can follow me at East Bay Bookshelf on StoryGraph!
So far this year I’ve read 9 books and almost 3,000 pages! And yes, I count audiobooks!

Moods: Mostly emotional and reflective. Not surprised!

Genres: I’m definitely a lover of contemporary, magical realism, romance, literary, and historical fiction. I am surprised thriller is up there because I can guarantee that I did not read a scary book!

Celebrity Book Clubs
If you haven’t found a local book club, you can always follow along with these celebrity book clubs! More to come from me on the selections I’ve read or look forward to reading.
- Belletrist (Emma Roberts)
- Good Morning America
- Oprah’s Book Club
- Read with Jenna
- Reese’s Book Club
- Service95 (Dua Lipa)
New: E-Book Deals!
Now you can visit a curated list of my recommended e-book deals through Bookshop.org. These are books I’ve read and loved, added to my TBR, or books that are highly recommended to me by trusted librarians, booksellers, and bookish friends!
For every book you buy using the links provided, you are supporting East Bay Bookshelf and, more importantly, independent bookstores! Check out a few of my favorite deals from this week.
Follow me on Instagram at @eastbaybookshelf for timely e-book deal updates!

Before wrapping things up, I wanted to give a shout out to a bookstore in Corpus Christi, Texas called The Cookie Plot. I hear great things from my bookish friends in the area. If you ever find yourself in South Texas, be sure to drop by!
