Happy Friday!
This week I’m bringing you tips on how to support your local library, sharing my mileage goal for 2025, the Tuesday TBR, a bookish adventure in Walnut Creek, and Stephen King’s thoughts on banned books. Enjoy!
Support Your Local Library
I receive the Libby Life newsletter and this week it included an article about how we can be supporting our local libraries right now. Below is a summary, you can read the full article here!
- Check out books & digital resources.
- Attend events and programs.
- Advocate and spread the word.
- Join Friends of the Library.
- Ask your local branch about their needs.
- Wear your support.
So, get your library card today! For East Bay locals, I’ve provided quick links below on how to sign up for a library card:

1000 Miles…Maybe?
In mid-March I looked up the number of miles I had already walked for the year. After some quick math I figured out that I’m on track to walk 1000 miles in 2025!
To be clear, I only count miles toward this goal where I’m on an actual walk – not just regular steps in the grocery store or around my house. (Although I do agree those activities can increase my step count dramatically during the day.)
I’ve never walked 1000 miles in a year before! I do get nervous about announcing this goal, but if I’m already on track to achieve it and I had no idea, then maybe the stakes are low. I’ll keep you posted!

Tuesday TBR
This week I published another edition of the Tuesday TBR, where I share just one book on my “to be read” list.
I am classifying this week’s selection as my most anticipated Spring release (hits shelves April 22!) and it was written by an auto-read author for me.
Let’s just say, it’s for the book lovers. Check it out!
W is for Walnut Creek

On Saturday, I visited Barnes & Noble to attend the book signing for W is for Walnut Creek. Read all about the book (and my favorite features!) in my review.
I’m with The Banned (Books)
This wall of banned books at Barnes & Noble reminded me of this quote from Stephen King directed toward children who are at schools that are banning books.
Run, don’t walk, to the nearest nonschool library or to the local bookstore and get whatever it was that they banned. Read whatever they’re trying to keep out of your eyes and your brain, because that’s exactly what you need to know.

That’s it for this week. Don’t forget to check out my recommended e-book deals on Bookshop!
Questions for your weekend:
- Do you track your mileage or steps?
- What banned books have you read?
- What are you currently reading?
