Tuesday TBR: Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley

It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means: a book I’ve added to my TBR (to be read) list! Today I’m featuring Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley, published in 2022.

From the publisher:

Nobody ever talks to strangers on the train. It’s a rule. But what would happen if they did? It turns out that talking to strangers can teach you about the world around you–and even more about yourself.

I first heard about this book during a Modern Mrs. Darcy meet-up and then many more times in other circles of trusted bookish friends!

Now that our family lives in the Bay Area, I take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) into the city when I can. I also recall studying abroad in Barcelona and taking the metro and/or bus to and from the city every day. There is just something about public transportation. It’s like everything and nothing happens. You know what I mean, especially if you use it every single day and are in close proximity to the same people.

Let me know if you’ve already read Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting, and what you thought, or one of Clare Pooley’s other books:

The Authenticity Project (2020)

How to Age Disgracefully (2024)
