Lattes for Literacy: Week 3 Update

A few weeks ago I announced a new project called “Lattes for Literacy” where I modify my daily coffee order to support and raise awareness for local libraries and literacy programs.

This week I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve set aside $26.95 so far just by changing my coffee order. For $20.00, I purchased a membership to be a Friend of the Danville Library!

What do the Friends of the Danville Library do?

From the website:

In 1958, the Friends of the Danville Library (FODL) was established as a nonprofit organization with the goal of supporting the Danville Library.

With an all-volunteer staff, the Friends have generously contributed to the Library through its membership dues, sales in the Friends Bookstore, and special book sale events all year round.

All proceeds benefit the Danville Library’s adult and children’s programs, numerous library events, as well as the purchase of new books and materials benefiting all our patrons.

If you are local to the East Bay, find a “Friends of the Library” in Contra Costa or Alameda county.
