Lattes for Literacy: Week 8 Update

Last week my friend asked me how I calculate my Lattes for Literacy contributions each week, so I thought I would share here! I always base it off of the price of a medium latte because that’s my “go to” coffee order. So I look for items on the menu that are less expensive than a medium latte. Any money that I save counts toward Lattes for Literacy!

Here’s a snapshot from last week:

  • Monday: $1.80
  • Tuesday: $0.65
  • Wednesday: $1.85
  • Thursday: $0.50
  • Friday: $0.50
  • Saturday: $0.65 — on this day I actually ordered a medium latte and used my coffee shop rewards for a “free size upgrade.”
  • Sunday: $0.40

TOTAL: $6.35

If you are considering starting a similar project, I recommend thinking about something you do anyway every day or every week. You can change your habit just a little bit and reap the benefits over time! I know that $6.35 per week seems very small, but over the course of a year it would add up to $330.20! I think the key is to feel like you aren’t missing out on an experience.

Catch up on my previous Lattes for Literacy posts here and let me know if you are doing your own project!
