Shelf Reflection

Happy Saturday! The start of the week was warm in the East Bay, but it’s finally cooling down and feeling like sweater-weather. We had a low-key Labor Day Weekend spending time at the driving range, walking to the coffee shop, doing a fall clean-out, and celebrating the end of summer at the pool! It was a perfectly relaxing holiday before a fall season full of family, travel, and basketball.

You may have noticed the name change of the newsletter to “Shelf Reflection.” That’s all it is, you can continue to expect a weekly round-up of bookish fun!

New from Annabel Monaghan

Yesterday Annabel Monaghan announced her new book, Dolly All the Time, scheduled to be released May 26, 2026 – right on time for your summer vacation. I love Annabel Monaghan’s books and immediately added it to my TBR!

Check out her other books here.

A September Release

Let’s back up and talk about a book that is being released at the end of September! You can expect The Lost Story of Eva Fuentes by Chanel Cleeton on September 30, 2025. I have read most of her historical fiction and this one looks like it is perfect for readers who love books about books!

8-Year-Old Birthday Books

Yesterday was my son’s birthday and after he opened presents, he asked to go to the bookstore. Who am I to deny him this birthday wish? We went to Barnes & Noble where he picked up two in the Magic Tree House series. From the Bookshop description:

Meet Jack and Annie! Jack and his younger sister, Annie, are just regular kids. But when they discover a tree house in the woods, something magical happens. Jack and Annie are whisked back in time to the Age of Dinosaurs, a medieval castle, ancient pyramids, and treasure-seeking pirates.
