Welcome to Friday! I hope the first full work-week of the year is treating you well. I took quite a bit of time off over the holidays, so I was ready to get back into the swing of things. My husband picked up some flowers last Sunday at Trader Joe’s and created this bouquet. It was a wonderful pick-me-up over a rainy weekend and a great way to symbolize a fresh start to the year!

Last week, I reflected on my 2025 reading year – what went well & what didn’t. So, this week, I’m excited to share my 2026 reading intentions!
24 Books. You may already know this based on the books I read in 2025: I’m not the person who is reading 100+ books each year. If you are looking for a bookish friend who reads 2-3 books per month, you’re in the right spot! I want reading to be enjoyable and this number always feel right to me. (When I first started setting reading goals, I thought I could read 50 books per year…oops!)
10,800 Pages. I know this is very specific. I can read about 30 pages per day, which is about 900 pages per month. 900 pages x 12 months = 10,800! Why do I have a page goal in addition to a book goal? Because some books are long and others are short – I want to get “credit” for the longer books I read. 900 pages per month could be 2 long books, 3 medium size books, or 5 short books, or any combination!
$365 Lattes for Literacy + 50% match. In 2025, I donated a total of $240 to local libraries, literacy programs, and a food bank just by saving a few cents or dollars on my daily coffee order. A few of those organizations received a 50% match from my employer as well! In 2026, my goal is to donate $365 (a dollar a day) and request the 50% match for each! Learn more about my Lattes for Literacy project.
5-Star Book Reviews. Last week I mentioned that I’d like to do a formal book review for all the books I rate as 5-stars. My first read of the year was 5-stars! Now I’m reading two more books and I’m thinking more critically about if they are 4 or 5-stars.
50% Book Club Reading & Attendance. I now officially belong to 3 book clubs, which is so great because that means more bookish friends! But it can be extremely time consuming from both a reading and social standpoint. I know that I won’t be reading all 36 books this year (12 monthly selections x 3), so my goal is to read 50% of the selections and attend those meetings and discussions.
Questions for your weekend:
- What are your bookish goals for 2026?
- Are you part of multiple book clubs? How do you balance reading and attendance?
