The week got away from me, so I’m sharing the weekly newsletter today, with a little bookish bonus!
Quotable
I’ve said before that The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab is one of my all-time favorite books. In March every year I think of this quote:
March is such a fickle month. It is the seam between winter and spring—though seam suggests an even hem, and March is more like a rough line of stitches sewn by an unsteady hand, swinging wildly between January gusts and June greens. You don’t know what you’ll find, until you step outside.
I recommended Addie to a friend months ago and this week she told me she’s halfway through! We talked about how she was listening to it in her car and she had to get out at really good part. Haven’t we all wanted to just stay in the car to keep listening?

Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist
Earlier this week, the 2026 Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist was announced. The shortlist will be announced on April 22, 2026 and the winner will be announced on June 11, 2026.
About the Women’s Prize Trust:
As a registered charity, we improve access to and appreciation of women’s writing for all readers, providing an awards platform that champions brilliant women writers and role models while nurturing a supportive, global community of readers and writers.
Out of the 16 books on the longlist, I’ve only read two – The Correspondent and Heart the Lover. I’m excited to add more to my TBR!
You can also check out last year’s shortlist and winner.

March is National Reading Month
Sunday was the first day of National Reading Month and Monday was Read Across America! My son and I put together a list of ideas to celebrate reading throughout the month (as if we needed more reasons!).

To Be Read
On the Tuesday TBR, I highlighted two new releases that hit shelves this week! One is about the complicated relationship between a mother and daughter. The other is a time travel romance (one of my favorite genres!).

Chirp Audiobook Deals
My husband and I are always looking for great deals on audiobooks. I recently bought Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers on Chirp for just $3.00 and after I finished it, I received a code to share with friends for a $2.00 audiobook.
What I like about Chirp is I can buy just one book, no subscription required! Today I took a look at the deals and there are so many great options! Let me know if you start using Chirp!

Author Event at Rakestraw Books
I was delighted to see that Rakestraw Books in Danville is hosting Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney (author of The Nest and Lake Effect) on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 7pm at the bookstore. Tickets are only $10 and you can buy them here!

I’m wrapping up this post on Saturday morning while sipping my morning coffee. It’s going to be a beautiful day in the East Bay so I’m excited to be headed to the first baseball game of the season!
A few questions for your weekend:
- Were there any books on the Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist that you have read or plan to add to your TBR?
- How are you celebrating National Reading Month?
