Happy Saturday! I’m getting back from an early morning coffee walk of 4 miles. I also started a spreadsheet to measure my progress toward my goal of 1000 miles in 2025. I’ll keep you posted on how I’m doing!
This week I’m sharing links I’m loving, what I’m currently into, cute merch from my local library’s coffee shop, a book I’ve recently added to my TBR, how to calculate the number of books you can read in a year, and recommendations from my IRL friends!
Links to Love 💕
Guess that Book: If there is a quiz in the Libby Life newsletter, I’m going to take it. Can you guess the titles of these 17 books? Let me know how you did!
Read Between the Wine: If you love hosting book club, this article is for you! It dives into how to create invites, on-theme food and drink options, and the best discussion questions. I am a low-maintenance book club queen, so my favorite part is always the discussion, but my mother taught me to appreciate a well-themed atmosphere!
Book to Screen: Did you see The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is going to the big screen? “The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.” I read this Reese’s Book Club pick many years ago and I’m in need of a re-read, or an audiobook listen!
Currently
I’m taking a page from one of my favorite bloggers, PB Fingers, and sharing a few “currently” updates!
Currently reading…Creation Lake. I picked it up at the library last week. Described as a “novel about a seductive and cunning American woman who infiltrates an anarchist collective in France—a propulsive page-turner filled with dark humor.” Learn more.

Currently enjoying…afternoons in the shade. If you are local to the Bay Area, you may not be able to relate to this, but I’m from Texas where the temperature doesn’t really change whether you are under the shade or not. Now, I’m loving that I can be wearing short sleeves during the day here, but as soon as the sun goes down or I find myself under a tree, I need to throw on a sweater.

Currently watching…Sullivan’s Crossing. I’m watching Season 2 and I just heard that Season 3 will be on Netflix in August. And the series has been renewed for a fourth season! (For Fans Of: One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls!)
Currently anticipating…a visit from my parents. Flight plans were finalized last week, so we are counting down the weeks until their arrival!
Currently drinking…Olipop. I love the Cherry Cola, Root Beer and Cream Soda flavors. (Paired with a TJR hits the spot!)

Prologue Coffee & Tea ☕️
Last Saturday my son and I spent time at the Walnut Creek Library, which usually means we also stop by the library cafe, Prologue Coffee & Tea, for an afternoon pick-me-up. Don’t you just adore that name? Perfection. I love this tumbler and coffee mug!

Near the library downtown is Civic Park – perfect in the late afternoon and evening in the summer because there is so much shade.

TBR 📚
I haven’t posted a Tuesday TBR in a while, but that doesn’t mean I’m not adding books to my To Be Read List! Finding My Way by Malala hits shelves this October. I read her first book, I Am Malala, many years ago. If you aren’t following her on Instagram, highly recommend.

How many books can you read in a year?
Let’s say the average book you read is 350 pages. I know plenty are longer, but 350 is a good place to start for this exercise. If you read 10 pages a day, you could read 10 books per year. See how it can add up below!
- 10 pages per day = 10 books per year
- 15 pages per day = 15 books per year
- 20 pages per day = 20 books per year
I think you get it! So the lesson here is to set a daily page goal to meet your annual book goal. My goal is about 30 pages per day. Sometimes I read 0 and sometimes I read 60 in a day (audiobooks count!). It’s all about balance!

Recs from my IRL Friends
When you have a book blog, you get a lot of recommendations sent your way! I’m not complaining. Check out these book-adjacent recs from my IRL friends!
We Were Liars on Amazon Prime. Based on the book by E. Lockhart. Here’s the book summary:
A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.Read it.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
This Book Lover tote. So cute!

Historical Happy Hour. Jane Healey is the the host of Historical Happy Hour, a live interview and podcast featuring premiere historical fiction authors and their latest novels: “One of my favorite things as a writer is to talk to other writers. In each episode, I will interview a historical fiction author with a brand new book coming out. We’ll talk all about their latest novel, but also discuss their writing process and research, and their life beyond being an author.”

That’s it for today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Comment below some bookish links you’re loving!
