A Very Bookish Birthday Weekend

I turned 37 on Friday and I just have to tell you all about how I celebrated (books, books, and more books!) 🎉

I had a busy week at work, but on Friday night my husband and son surprised me with two beautiful flower bouquets and the sweetest card before dinner at Bridges in Danville. It’s a dinner tradition at this point – we love the fact that the “Help is on the way!” dinner scene from Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed there.

On Saturday morning, I went on 3.7 mile walk to celebrate 37 years. Then I hit up the Friends of the Danville Library Book Sale! They always have such a great selection. Mark your calendar for the next one on July 25th!

I ended up buying 3 books for myself and asked my son if he was interested in any of the middle-grade books.

He is very into the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. They were $4/each so it was a good deal!

On Sunday, I celebrated East Bay Bookshelf turning 2! Thank YOU for reading and subscribing!

I received a Bookshop.org gift card and ordered a book that’s been on my TBR: Go Gentle by Maria Semple. (I’ve read and loved her other 3 books.) My order supported Rakestraw Books in Danville! I love that you can select an independent bookstore to support!

Some other fun ways I celebrated 37 years:

  • Wrote for 37 minutes without stopping (honestly, not that difficult for me!)
  • Read 37 pages in one sitting (more difficult for me, I prefer audiobooks!)
  • Selected 37 items in my house to donate or throw away (I found stuff fairly quick)
  • Created a 37-minute playlist of my favorite songs (getting it to be exactly 37 minutes is more difficult than you might think!)

How do YOU enjoy celebrating your birthday?
