For my birthday last weekend, I visited the Friends of the Danville Library Book Sale!
If you aren’t researching when your local libraries have book sales, you may be missing out! I walked away with 8 books (3 for me, 5 for my son) for just $33. Some libraries even have “Members Only” hours at the beginning of a sale and super great deals at the end of the sale.
Today I’m going to tell you about the 3 books I bought for myself.
Oh William! by Elizabeth Strout
Elizabeth Strout is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, so this was an easy decision to pick up. Oh William! is about a divorced woman who reconnects with her ex-husband. It’s the third book in the Amgash series (My Name is Lucy Barton is the first). In 2022, Oh William! was shortlisted for the Booker Prize!

The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali
The Lion Women of Tehran is a historical fiction novel exploring the power of female friendship amid political upheaval in Iran. Marjan Kamali is also the author of The Stationary Shop.

The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley
The Authenticity Project is about a group of strangers whose lives become intertwined after they share their deepest truths in a notebook.

If you are local to the East Bay, mark your calendar for the next Friends of the Danville Library Book Sale on July 25th! Pro tip: the earlier you arrive the better the selection!

I’m feeling most drawn to The Authenticity Project so I’ll probably start with that one, but not until I get through the next few weeks of reading.
Tell me about some of the books you’ve bought at a library book sale!
